01
List the places you need care
Write down your home location and the places where you regularly spend time for work. Separate planned routine visits from urgent or emergency situations. Ask the insurer what each category means under the exact policy and where coverage applies.
02
Verify the exact plan and provider
Use the insurer’s directory for the specific network, then confirm with the provider’s office. Ask about the location, facility and professionals involved. A provider accepting one plan from an insurer does not establish participation in another product. Save the plan name and confirmation details.
03
Check practical access
Ask how out-of-area prescriptions, pharmacy networks, refills and telehealth work. Confirm whether telehealth is included, what it costs and whether location restrictions apply. Do not assume a member resource or discount program replaces covered medical care.
04
Make a travel checklist
Keep your member ID and insurer contact details accessible. Know where to find the benefits document and assistance number. Before an extended work trip, recheck routine-care access and any out-of-network exposure. Provider directories and networks can change.
