01

Verify the specific network

Ask both the insurer and your provider whether the exact plan and location are in network. A practice may participate in one product from an insurer but not another. Save the plan name and your confirmation details.

02

Review prescription coverage

Look at the plan’s drug list, often called a formulary. Check tiers, pharmacy requirements, prior authorization, and any quantity limits. Ask how costs can change before and after a deductible.

03

Consider how you receive care

Think about specialist visits, travel, telehealth, and the facilities you prefer. Ask how referrals and out-of-network services are handled. Directories and benefits can change, so confirm again close to enrollment.
